Im late to the discussion but I literally couldnt launch my elden ring for over a week untik they finally patched it and it ran fine lol

I skipped on Elden Ring and went for Gran Turismo 7 instead. Worth it.

My 20 hour save was deleted and elden ring consistently closes on its own. I love the game but the performance issues should definitely affect the score. Bloodborne is just poor optimisation, I say this all the time if red dead redemption can run on a ps4, no games should have a problem with hitting 30. Plus fromsoftware ports on pc are terrible and they don’t fix them over time with patches. Dark souls 1 is still horrible.

So let me get this straight, Andrew crapped on Battlefield 2042 for not being good on release. And argued that it doesn’t matter what it will look like in a couple months because it should’ve released in full condition. But with Elden Ring “the game will be fixed” so we shouldn’t judge it on its current condition. Interesting.

Imo you should be allowed to criticize a aaa game company on performance issues when this isn't their first game on pc by far. That being said I think it's the best game I've ever played hands down. Thats just my shitty opinion though. Like it's not petty to be annoyed at no support for ultrawide or high refresh rate, because that's just insane to me at this point with a huge company

I blind bought elden ring after I saw the trailer a while ago and Im such a normie that I didnt even know it was a souls like game. Its been kicking my ass for three straight days. I had to make a new character with better stats because I needed as much help as possible. I haven't defeated even a sub boss yet bc Im still figuring out how to play a souls like game. Still having a great time

I don't think you can know how good a game will be from its trailer, but yeah you can usually tell how bad it'll be if even the promo material designed to hide the flaws looks like shit

Andrews point on Steam reviews on launch is way off, I think Elden Ring is an 11/10 but I gave it a negative review because I bought a broken product, it's bad that I can't experience the great game it is without doing a load of work to compensate for a companies bad practise. I'll absolutely change it when it is fixed because then it will be a functioning product, but there's no guarantee it will ever be fixed, i.e. Halo Infinite

My 1050ti is doing just fine with it on default settings. 45-50fps should be fine for most people. Everyone must have forgot back in early 2010s when it was a luxury to have PC games run at 60+ FPS, not a standard.

Elder scrolls go for a totally different market than elden ring people. They have quite a bit of overlap still though. Games like Skyrim are still beautiful games even with extremely shitty graphics. It’s not exactly about the graphics, but the scope of the environment. For a game like Skyrim with well designed cottages on a mountainside with northern lights going on makes an extremely beautiful scene even with shitty graphics

Been playing Elden Ring since launch on medium settings and had 1 or 2 “noticeable” frame drops and has been running fine ever since 10/10 easy masterpiece.

The biggest issue I’ve seen in the community is that everyone seems to think that their performance is what everyone is having. Charlie mentioned that he deducted 3 points in his moist meter because he had minor performance issues. Other people have given 0s because it’s completely unplayable. These are both fine, but everyone responds with shill for one and troll for the other.

Absolutely awful take by Andrew. You should definitely review a game based on the issues it has on launch. I’m surprised everybody entertained that stupid argument. ANDREW is the one that said he’s not supporting 2042 due to the game coming out broken. Now he’s saying you shouldn’t review it based on issues? Cmon Andrew, do better. People like Andrew are the reason why these game devs will continue to push out games unfinished. Straight up bias. I know we’re all excited about Elden Ring because it’s a really good game but let’s not let that cloud our judgment or else we won’t be better than the Pokémon fan base that never demands better from game freak.
