Jon mentioning he and others thought that Rooster Teeth was going to move all of the Machinima content onto their channel got me wondering. Maybe that was the plan, but due to Machinima's incompetence certain rights or permissions still belonged to (or maybe defaulted back to) the original creators. Rooster Teeth then decided it wasn't worth un-privating videos they can't profit from and the machinima team then figured why not let the creators re-upload the content they made. Just a thought, it's not like I'm an expert in copyright or video game content laws or anything.

So when they sold the channel, maybe they sold them the brand, but technically still owned the videos, so the new guys had to lock them down to avoid showing videos owned by WB
