Bonus #117 - Unlikeable Characters

Hey guys,

New bonus. We talk about unlikeable characters, like Velma and Cartman. What makes them different? Why is Velma and Forspoken's main character so vehemently disliked while other characters like Cartman get a pass?

Thanks, Jackson

I honestly wish Andrew explain to shadow the hedgehog’s backstory just to give the other guys and idea that sonic isn’t always goofy kid game. Short shadow is an edgy guy but when you look at his backstory and how lonely he is all the time you can kinda have an understanding the problem is in basically every other game after his own game it’s like they either got over it, or totally forgot about it.

Jake Wulgar

This is truly the most episode of all time a solid 5/10

Copycat

i'd care more about your opinion if you put even an ounce of effort in your hating

People are crybabies

Dylan Browning

This is the worst bonus yet.

Tecknicolour

When you guys try and break down society, you guys sound so out of touch.

Jimmy

The people saying "L Take" are the people who have too much pride to admit they are wrong

Raymond J Souza III

rare L take from the boys on this one

Antonio Mosca

bro is stuck in 1930

Completely against Kaya with fat shaming. If I choose to eat the way I want, regardless if it's healthy or not, you should not use that as an insult against me or shame me for it. It's my choice, just like smokers made their unhealthy choice. I don't see anybody shaming them. What's so different? Life is short regardless, might as well enjoy what you like even if it cuts it shorter. Hell, even healthy people can die out of the blue, just look at Lance Reddick.

Bronco Belligerence

I wouldn't say Charlie has a small frail body, bro is kinda jacked

Michael Cole

My man really censored the word “women” Also this is a trash take

NinjaMJ

Lars Overdale is an unlikable character.

Taner Guldin

The problem is w*men and minorities in writing positions. They’re too emotional and resentful about their own inferiority to produce nuance and good characters. I’m sure some of them are somewhat capable, but the white man should be the default.

The rocket league slander is crazy

andrew reavis

Rehehe

I've been using Rapeseed oil for years because its meant to be one of the best oils for getting healthy fats. However, you do need to buy the extra virgin cold pressed variety. In a dark glass bottle is better too.

Brad

It ties back to what they said in previous episodes with parents allowing YouTube to raise their kid for them

Taylor King

I think children growing wanting to grow up to be YouTubers is less about laziness and the “grind” and more about what they consume and who they look up too. If you’ve been watching lets say markiplier for your whole childhood you’d naturally wanna be like him. Its like in previous generations with the son/daughter wanting to be like whatever parent they like the most

Taylor King

Sure....

I feel like characters like Mindy Kaling's Velma are written to be "an unpopular person's power fantasy." Like, as they're being written the writers are saying "yeah, this person gets hated on but they don't just take people's shit like I did. They have witty quips and put those jerks in their place!" Except it always backfires and instead of making the character a plucky underdog they just come off as a justifiably hated asshole.

Me

I hate andrews mindset of “you either work out and be happy, or you play video games and be sad” why does working out have to be the thing that makes people happy?

Plexx

I've survived in one for the past 7 years dumbass, I build houses for a living

I don't want to defend Charlie, but you also wouldn't survive in a construction job.

He doesn´t have to fix it though. He just takes it with him. The easiest thing for him to do, would be to believe me when I said, I had already tried what he showed me. But what is mansplaining suppose to mean then?

Ya I'd like to see Charlie's small frail body last 10 hours in a construction job, much easier to complain about videos games and TV shows on your computer for money than do actual work that benefits society as a whole.

It sounds like he just blames them, so he doesn't have to be responsible for fixing it. Definitely not mansplaining. This comment could maybe seen as mansplaining however.

My boss said this to me the other day "All the small female cleaners never check the head or hose of the vacuum, to see if there's something stuck" I had complained that the vacuum didnt suck up the dirt. I told him I had taken every part apart, checked the filter and changed bag, but nothing worked. He then took it apart himself, and said what I wrote in the beginning. I am female, that might be important to mention. Obviously, nothing was in it, I had already confirmed that, so he gave me a new one with no bitter tone. He's an older man, and have older believes, but he's a very sweet guy! The only sexist'ish thing he does, is out of kindness. Not directly wanting to ask my clothing size (for work clothes), and wanting to carry out the trash for me because "its a little heavy". I wanna be clear, that I see nothing wrong with this, and its just the way choose to show his masculinity. But I feel like that first sentence is mansplaining, since he brings gender into it, or have I misunderstood the term? Thoughts?

I came hear to comment not all fat people are fat because they want to be youtubers or influencers. I for one got fat cuz of depression plus inherent obesity patterns in my family....but then i scroll up and someone went on q unhinged tirade. I think the matrix is after them.

This upload schedule is whack
