I agree, get rid of trucks. They're obnoxious and blind me at night with giant walls of light. People that claim to get them for hauling never haul anything and utility vans could serve the same purpose. They claim to get then for towing, then add vanity packages, crew cab, tool boxes, etc that add weight to the vehicle and reduce the towing capacity. Then you have the idiots that jack the front of the truck up to a 45° angle and add stupid after market mufflers to make them as loud as possible. 1000% delete trucks.

Hey just wanted to let Andrew know that there is 100% a fair reason to have a big (even lifted) truck lol, I live in a backwoods ass place where moose like to chill on the road and if you hit a moose with a car it’s your funeral. Having a truck with a hood higher the it’s center of gravity let’s you prevent a windshield impact (the main cause of death in wildlife crashes) for reference, more Canadians have died from wildlife collisions since 2004 than died in the whole Korean War

On the topic of truck headlights, I actually got into a serious accident because I couldn't see anything. I was driving through a back road and a truck with bright LED lights was coming towards me and I couldn't see anything behind it, and a deer ended up bolting out from behind the truck but I didn't see it till it was already in my Lane because the lights were so bright I couldn't see anything behind the truck. Since I never saw it until it was already in front of me I didn't have time to slow down, and it ended up destroying my front end, and so far it's cost me like $3, 000 in parts

Hope Jackson sees this but I couldnt swallow pills till I was a teenager for some reason and how I got started is kind of dangerous but you absolutly fill your mouth with water and get the pill to the furthest back you can and it kind of illicets a choking feeling and your mind force swallows to clear the way. I had to do it for almost a year but now I don't have a problem at all.

Yes they are marginally brighter, but not excessively. If people are being blinded by headlights now, then they also were 5 years ago. Sometimes I get someone flashing me because they think my high beams are on, so then I turn on my high beams along with some offroad pod lights to show them what bright lights actually look like. I think the issue that people overlook with this is that roads aren't perfectly flat, if someone in oncoming traffic goes over a subtle change in elevation, it could just perfectly aim the beams into your eyes.

anybody with a newish car (mine is 2021) would know that their headlights are marginally brighter than that of a car 5+ yrs old. i also think i do have astigmatism but the new LEDS or wtv they use is so blinding i would get flashed when i would first start driving my car at night.

I drive a conventional height car, yet rarely get blinded by headlights save for when someone doesn't properly adjust their headlights on their lifted truck. If it's that much of an issue for Andrew, he should get his eyes checked for astigmatism. And "Just Bikes" and that article about trucks being too tall are far to biased and overlook the practicality of these vehicles. Just because somebody is short and can't see over the wheel or pay attention to pedestrian traffic, doesn't mean everybody that drives those vehicles are like that and shouldn't be forced to give up their vehicle because some cyclists got butthurt. And they're putting front facing cameras and sensor in a lot of these vehicles that this will be even less of an issue than it already is.

I side with jackson as someone who also has an inability to swallow pills. I have also tried everything but the only thing that works is dissolving it or chopping it and eating it in bites of food. Trucks are the fucking worst, any other car would be better. My parents bought a truck and never fucking use it. They tell me that they'll use it more often when their alot older since they probably won't be able to afford a good car by then but it's fucking dumb. I enjoy this podcast but these boys clearly don't have diverse enough perspectives to take hard positions about trucks. Come spend some time in a rural community in america and start pontificating about why people shouldn't drive trucks and see how it goes. These urban dudes who spend a majority of there time behind a screen shouldn't insert there opinions about truck drivers.
