I fucking LOVE it when you "rant" Kaya. I just realized that's what made me hooked to the show in the first place. And I'm sure most people don't find you getting deeper into why you feel a certain way to be boring at all.

This is one of my favorite episodes. Some just really good takes. I'm a little bit sad that Kaya doesn't like Germany that much. As a German that consumes mostly English content I can see the appeal to American kultur etc but Germany is such a nice country with so much interesting stuff. Also watched a lot of the big bang theory it's my comfort show 😅

I 100% get why you, Kaya, resent Germany so much. This country gets worse and worse by the minute. So are the politics and so are the people. At least in the larger cities. I'm not yet at that point where I'm ready to leave everything behind, but each day brings me closer to it. I just hate it here.

ive been learning bits of japanese in a way like Kaya did english, i listen to a lot of Vocaloid (Hatsune Miku) so i hear words and read lyrics and translate stuff and learn little bits, and then i use some teaching vids on youtube to learn about how the language works and learn sentences and vocabulary

Fantastic episode guys, I really love hearing both of you just conversing with each other. One thing though, Kaya. I know you said you don't buy into the narrative of "being brown means you have to fear for your life" and although I feel like its always been blown out of proportion, you need to understand that being brown in a dominantly white community absolutely gets you treated differently and puts a lot more eyes on you for no reason. I'm a brown person (Mexican American) and I have gotten treated differently in many white dominanted cities here in Souther California just for my skin color. I've gotten questioned for no reason, I've been refused immediate service for no reason, some cashiers would even go as far as trying to use large English vocabulary to try and 'confuse' me when I heard them speaking normally to the person who was before me. I'm glad you don't have to face these issues but that doesn't mean that there isn't a narrative at play. A lot of Sunset towns still exist in the US and even in Southern Cali.
