I agree with Kaya, which a brief look into these comments seems like the unpopular opinion? Pirating comes down to 4 reasons why it's so much better. I do not pirate any .exe's or PC games. Only emulatable roms and movies/TV shows. It makes pirating far far safer when you are not pirating executables. 1. The MOST important reason. Streaming sites do NOT deliver high fidelity media anymore. They are all compressed to save server space and bandwidth. You spend a decent amount on a TV and surround system, just to watch a movie and theres color blocking... The dark scenes are unwatchable, etc. Think of that game of thrones episode people hated. Blu rays are THE definitive way to watch a movie and the only way to get those are buy a Blu ray for like $20-30 or pirate a Blu ray rip. Now adays you buy a 4k TV and it just straight up doesn't even matter because 1080p Blu rays look better anyways. If a streaming service allowed high fidelity movies and TV shows this wouldn't be such an important point. But none do. Unless you are a millionaire, they have a weird company that does something with some in house hardware. 2. Offline capability. I live outside the city. Internet is spotty and most of the time sucks. Can turn off for hours at a time. Nothing sucks more than finally finding a weekend to binge watch a TV show with your gf and spending 1/3 the day fighting the router. Some apps like Netflix let you download movies but there is no way to cast to your TV unless you use wires and your screen has to stay on an away from you. I can go to work where I have great wifi. Download the files on my work laptop and transfer it thru flash drive to my PC at home which is wired to my TV as well. 4k surround in true fidelity. 3. Companies are greedy. Too many damn streaming services. I hate paying for a streaming service and because I'm busy it takes a while to make my way through a TV show and halfway thru the TV show jumps streaming services... Now all of a sudden I need 2 streaming services to finish my shows. 4. Sometimes the media just straight up doesn't exist anymore anywhere else or is an exuberant price. Sometimes I WANT to watch a specific movie and I can't find it. Or if I can find it some streaming service wants $20 for a movie that came out in the 90s... No thanks.

Recently a VFX artist that’s worked with DC and MARVEL came out and explained why CGI looks so bad. The studios outsource the VFX jobs on bids, and pretty much those artists have to bid lower than doable pay and timelines or they just won’t get work anymore. So they are understaffed and over worked to hit those deadlines and it all looks like shit.

In some cases I’d say it’s easier to torrent than go find my card and put in all my information to whatever site I want to sign up to.
