I'm a left wing person and kaya is definitely right about the optics, a lot of liberals are more concerned with being performance artists and having a good image on social media over actual policy which is why they're always so weak in passing legislation (even when they have a majority vote, which is an objective weakness on that side of the spectrum). Right wingers also have those same performance artists, but instead of being the majority of people they're usually either hard right, extremists, or grifters trying to appeal to the latter two groups to sell alpha male pills and guru courses
