yeah the situation here is just not at all what kaya thinks, we already do most of what he said and the whole point is it DOESNT work and people get over incriminated. he said people dont get locked up for weed and damn i wish that were true, there a reason it aint federally legal yet lmfao

Idk where kaya gets that America doesn't punish people anymore. The only country that has more prisoners than us is China and they have 4x more people yet we are neck and neck w them when it comes to prison population. We also do prison labor just like he wants. We also indefinitely lock people up in jail until they go to court or pay money. Our justice system disproportionately targets one race n then that allows the US to enslave them (again). Our prisons are also notoriously dogshit when it comes to rights. A few articles about police on the west coast ignoring property crimes due to overcrowding or whatever =/= the US being Norwegian about prisons lol.

California wants to adopt and transition the Norway prison model. I feel like it's a slap in the face to the victims and their family. "Hey you know how your loved one was molested/murdered/raped? Yeah the guy that did it is taking college classes for free, gets free health care, big screen TVs, tablets, and so much more! All being funded by your tax dollars!" It's so shameful.
