Patreon fans seem to be insane, the comments sections here are always so angry no matter the episode, but on youtube theres hundreds of thousands of views per episode so people are clearly enjoying it consistently, $5 for the amount of content is reasonable, it sucks that bonus episodes are going away, but with the amount of new shows and other content coming out in the last few months, it more than makes up for it, hope these guys are enjoying making this content still, cause once they dont like doing it, the show ends

To y'all complaining here, we are here to support the group foremost, they don't owe you anything if the content doesn't intrest you or you don't feel like supporting them that's fine have some dignity and move on peacefully. But to get angry over not receiving an episode a month for $5 then you're just being petty. I personally enjoy the movie nights alot and look forward to any content released, but most importantly I'm here to support the boys because Jackson and kaya and sometimes charlie do put loads of effort into this. Especially with 3 running podcast and 6 exclusive episodes each month. I think losing one episode a month that half the crew had no heart put into it isn't that big of a lose. yea when i said "unanimous" i more or less meant it in a sense where they all were kinda forced into collectively "agreeing" on it. i mean if half of the podcast [charlie & andrew] are adamant about no more bonus eps then theres not much jackson & kaya could do @ that point because they cant necessarily force them, it's a 2v2 situation. but i definitely did pick up on that when jackson clarified that he & kaya were down for anything [obviously because theyre the goats]. imma stay subbed for them, but i definitely respect u not wanting to keep ur subscription.

I first noticed it on a YouTube short for episode 354, and just for you I looked around the surrounding episodes to see when he started/stopped using his 3 cohosts as background noise for his gaming sessions: - 348 he gamed for the entire time - 349 he respected the others' efforts and did not game at all! - 350 games entire time - 351 games entire time - 352 waited a respectful 30mins, then games entire time - 353, 354 games entire time - 355 stopped gaming 10mins before end <3 - 356 shows up 15mins late to a guest episode; games entire time - 357, 358 games entire time - 359 stopped gaming 20mins before end <3 <3 - 360 games entire time - 361 he was absent for covid. And then he seemed to stop from the ones I checked after. I won't declare it as absolute fact that he's committing the ultimate sin of gaming during a podcast recording, but if you look at his facecam in these episodes, I mean like, cmon. I’m generally convinced he’s a decent human being and if this is the worst thing I can call him out for then he’s at most, a little disrespectful to his cohosts from the way that I perceive this.

I believe you make really good points here. Jackson and Kaya are very respectful towards each other and it kind of saddens/angers me that Charlie likes to be so argumentative. I understand people disagree but the way Jackson is talked down to from him is a little much. Charlie burning himself out is completely on him as well. He streams so much as well as nearly daily uploads on YouTube. It’s a lot. I’m not sure what’s going on with Andrew but when he’s on the show he seems genuinely interested and brings good discussion to the topics. Charlie is the main host everyone started listening to the podcast for but I think people stay for J & K.

But yeah, Used to be a huge fan of Andrew and Charlie 4 years ago when i first started listening, mainly because I came here for Charlie, and I was a teenager so hearing Andrew's super nerdy pop culture references being brought up as a topic fit my tastes pretty well, but later I realized how much Andrew complained about the podcast, whether someone be a little late, they talk about a topic one too many times, or just his disdain for having to be in the podcast in general. I thought kaya was really weird because of his very cut throat and brash attitude, and I had little opinion about jackson at all, but ive come to realize how big of a heart kaya really has and just how much love and time jackson puts into the show, and they've became my favorites really fast, Know i said a lot of unnecessary fluff, but my bottom line is that Andrew isnt as cool as I thought he was initially

Tbh if the bonus eps become just kaya and Jackson I will be happy. Their dynamic is wonderful and they respect each other. But if the bonus eps dissappear completely I will be pretty disappointed. I get it, life happens and I hold no ill will to people who get burnt out and it sounds like that's what's happening with Charlie and Andrew here. That being said I've been on the fence with my patronage for a bit and we'll see what happens with these changes. I am a huge fan of criminally stupid and if that continues regularly in one way or another I will probably keep my patronage just for that.

I think paying the $5 per month would be still worth it for me if the movie night follows a strict schedule, rather than being uploaded whenever or roughly once a week, or even softly dropping after a few episodes. I am also a little confused as to why the others, in particular andrew might not have time for movie night. I understand the members losing interest in the show. 300+ episodes talking to the same people each week is destined to become dry. But new concepts such as the movie night freshens things up and gives new things to talk about. So how come there is no interest to contribute with this? Assuming all members of the pod get an equal cut from the patron, it comes across as shameless, selfish and quite frankly a distaste for perhaps certain other members of the pod. I think one of the elephants in the room since the shows inception is Charlie’s popularity bringing in the majority of listeners and further traction. I get that it may kind of seem like an unspoken thing that Charlie does not need to contribute as much as the other guys, considering he brought in the success to begin with. Without him, there never would have been a long running show. On the inverse it is quite apparent that Jackson is wise to his fortunate position and has taken matters into his own hands to make the show a success and ensure its longevity as a career for him. I think when the show began. All the OP members brought equal value, and I don’t include production merit, but I mean as podcasters, as speakers. All had completely different ways of delivering humour and somehow it meshed well perfectly. I feel this is something the guys never really recognised. The show started as a comedy podcast at the forefront and felt somewhat lighthearted with enthusiastic topics. Now the show feels much more cynical and topics tend to revolve around negative conversations where each episode, the hosts only make fun of an individual or group of individuals. This to me is not healthy to listen to and has put me off revisiting newer episodes. I do in all honesty think these types of conversations are instigated by kaya and further entertained by Jackson which in my opinion is a valid reason for the other two hosts to become tired of conversations, especially as kaya being the loudest in the room, it leads to not much other choice a lot of the time. Now with less topics to talk about and natural friendship dynamics changing, I think it is necessary for a big talk amongst them, without just pretending that everything is okay and good and enjoyable still, when it clearly is just a job now for half the hosts. New formats need to be introduced and perhaps reoccurring guests to keep the cohosts enthusiastic and keep things fresh. Anyway, I will stay subscribed to see how the movie night plays out after a couple months. All the best for the show! I’ve been a listener since episode 1, replayed earlier episodes to get me through college and work commutes and is a show I will always value!

i might be going against the grain here, but i am glad the bonus episodes are going. for the past half year or so i feel as though the main episodes have been lacking as compared to before because of the bonus’, and i’d prefer if you did save those topics for a longer and higher quality regular episode, and besides, we’ve just received 2 relatively new shows and a technically returning show, which is exclusive to the patreon itself. this was the right move, and i’m happy to see the show thrive better than ever before 👏👏

The reason a lot of people pay for the patron is to get extra content in return. As much as we would like to support creators we enjoy, most of us don’t have that kind of charitable money. Monthly outgoings need to be selected carefully and for some, including myself, paying $5 a month was worth an additional 2 hours of content a month. Tbh now it feels almost pointless for me, unless the watch alongs are taken seriously and follow a strict schedule in a similar way to when the patreon first began.

I have always hated the hate any members get from the fan base, every member contributes in their own way and I love them all. I think you're right, the podcast being more successful then the stuff he does on his own really does get to him. Ngl this is kinda majorly disappointing. Let me start with the bonus episodes. That is somewhere between 1-4 hours of effort required per month, I get that Charlie has a few things going on but him doing a bonus every other bonus at least would require at most an hour and a half of time which is nothing. Now we turn to the fan favorite Andrew, this man posts a main channel video once a month at this point and his only side project is a bad oney plays/vanos ripoff gaming channel, an hour every 2 weeks is absolutely nothing. I get that he hates and despises the show now or whatever but come on dude. So now the only exclusive things here are the movie night, which hqs never lasted long in the past, and a thirty minute red thread bonus, which ehile these are appreciated this is nothing regarding the main show. I understand you two don't always want to do the bonus with just the two of you and charlie is busy and andrew is lazy, but there are plenty of ways to reinvent the bonus episode rather than ax it. Just a bit disappointed is all.

Honestly, while I'm sad to see the Bonus show go, I think it's for the better. I haven't listened to the most recent bonuses, but just from the past hundred-ish normal episodes you can see Charlie is burnt out, or just not as invested anymore. I, like many others, started watching this podcast because of him initially, but since then, the other hosts have grown on me way more. To be honest, if Charlie isn't feeling it anymore, I think it'd be better to pivot away by doing episodes just with Jackson and Kaya, and with Andrew if he's up to it. I think most of the audience is just noticing a lack of enthusiasm and overall care for the show on Charlie's part, even in The Read Thread, or at least I've seen that sentiment floating around. That being said though, I'll definitely stick around for a couple more months, as I've got about a hundred more bonuses to go through. I'm really happy with everything you guys have been putting out this last couple of months and I'd love to see this show grow even more. Cheers!

It's a dissapointment to see the only exclusive to the pateon dissapear. Being in a similar timezone to Jackson there's no benefit to the discord either (I'm not getting up at 3am like that madlad). I will probably stick around to see how it goes with the transition, but it's honestly a shame to see how little care half the guys have for the show (I wonder which half🤔🤔🤔). If/when Jackson and Kaya break off for their own thing, I will be following. I really enjoy their dynamic most of all. One benefit to the lack of care certain others have started showing in episodes is that it seems to have made Jackson more active in talking (or this could just be because of the more talkative role he has taken in other series).

The main thing that annoys me with this is that there's seemingly 0 effort put in from some of the crew, it's only ever Jackson that does these threads and checkups. To be honest in my country 5 dollar is generally a good meal in town and I tend to value it a bit more. The roadmap looks great. I mean, I only pay $5 a month for this patreon, so I'm really not that bothered! I don't have to listen to ads, and I think that levels out. A lot of other podcasts try and charge $15 a month for a bonus and early access that still have ads. So I think we're still getting the bang for our buck!

Yeah it doesn't take a massive big brained genius to put together that Andrew was one of the biggest causes of the Bonus episodes getting taken away. In the early days of the podcast, I really didn't understand the Andrew hate, but after the (now deleted) Chris chan episode, with his rant about how he's "over" the podcast, and has way more important things to focus on, I completely get it. Deleting the episode doesn't change the fact that he did, and probably to an extent still does, have that same mindset.

I appreciate finally announcing this because I had been wondering when bonuses would happen again since it was 4 weeks. tbh tho idk how I feel about the last bonus being about yandere lmao. but beyond all that stuff my biggest concern is that it'll be less of Official Podcast Patreon and more of a red threads patreon. At first glance the removal of bonus episodes is sad. It sucks, but makes sense why since it’s so restrictive. I would say the weekly movie nights and red thread after reports could make up for it. I’m good with it since it seems like there’s been a lot more energy and engagement from the boys since the patreon overhaul. I do wish that maybe Andrew could occasionally cameo or something in one of the other shows every once in awhile so we don’t lose so much Andrew content.

I listened to every single publicly available episode on Spotify before moving over to Patreon to see the exclusive content. It’s good to see that there will still be at least some exclusive content. The after report show sounds fun and worth paying for, but watch-alongs? It’s hard to sell audio only watch alongs as “4 exclusive episodes a week” rather than just a cute little bonus. I’m staying subbed just to support the show, Kaya and Jackson rn, but this news really sucks.

I just finally subscribed to the patreon for the bonuses last month since I've heard so much about them over the years so those going away is a bit upsetting, but the additional content on top of early access does seem very nice and the road map sounds great! (Also, the bonuses with just Jackson and Kaya were just as good as any other episode)
