2024-02-28 23:04:22 +0000 UTCcharlie actually had a rare moment of good insight when he mentioned that wendigo psychosis is still something you see today with religious delusions, because you see in the news every week where someone has a break of psychosis and murder-suicides his family because he's the chosen one and god told him to do it. it's pretty interesting how that specific case of mental illness is something that's always existed in different times and cultures, but never recorded as such since it wasn't understood properly. and it is similar to what happened with the heavens gate people who had the same religious delusions, just slightly less violent in their case

The Cree and Ojibwa survive today and some moved out to modern day alberta (east side of the Rockies) so luckily more legends have probably survived than we are aware of and may have spread even more in the past couple of generations

Iv even got an idea of the plot. which would go something along the lines of, during the sixteen hundreds European explorers and andathropoligist would go looking for a specific native villages up in northern Canada after hearing of strange stories from other coming out of it. When eventually they find one of these places and speak to the locals. They would learn of cannibal cultists who weald unnatural and horrifying abilities who live deep in certain woods and have been tormenting and snatching locals for as long as their oral histories go back. If the movie was successful a cryptic cinematic universe could featuring mothman and stuff like skin walker ranch.
