Red Thread #15 - The O.J Simpson Trial

Comments

I had a teacher in highschool whose name was also mark fuhrman and during the time of the trail people looked up his name in the phone book and he was receiving hundreds of death threats everyday for a long time until he found out that he could change his number

Fabian Vingochea jr

How do you draw that conclusion? They said 1 In 7800000 which to me sounds like quite a margin if error. I

Archbishop Mactasty

They are basically saying they are 99.99999 percent sure it was ojs blood so how would that be irrelevant.

Travis Williams

God I love gooning me and oj woulda been best buds!!

lanirus

You guys should really cover the story of Scott Peterson, there's a lot of really interesting theories around that case.

orion sween

I love when you guys talk about something that is current! (Even though the trail is old, his death brought him back to the forefront of people's minds)

Carrossea

Have yall ever thought about bringing meat canyon on red thread from creep cast

Homnix HD

Alright I see I should have kept listening before saying this, but I still would like an episode on it

Austin Jones

Seeing you cover the OJ trial makes me want to see an episode on Casey Anthony's trial. I remember it was briefly mentioned in the main show. That's on the level it not worse than the sham that was OJs trial.

Austin Jones

This was literally the only way i could listen to this podcast without stooping to YouTube. Spotify podcast sucks ass

Ben Crawford

Jackson, you should’ve said that half of the people cheering for OJ were black you trying to rewrite history? Bozo.

Satan

Bit of a werid take on the DNA sample. If someone told me there is a 1/7800000 of anything happening, that to me means that info is completely irrelevant and shouldn't be used in a court trial. That also with the assumption I'm a 90's dude who has to be told what DNA is

Archbishop Mactasty

Well done on the ep and giving proper respect to ron's family. Hell will have new soul to torture.

Mambo

Fuhrman started singing gangster rap during those tapes

otoniel orozco

Thank you! Really appreciate that! -J

The Boys

Mark fuhrman and his family are from a small town in Washington where I currently live. His family still lives there and I was good friends with his granddaughter in high school. She was fortunately not a racist

Toasstt

i’ve seen dozens of hours of the OJ trial and i think you guys did a great job of giving a rundown of nearly everything in 2 hrs

pinksubzero

Idk if you guys realize this but this man rushed for 2000 yards in one season. That seems pretty innocent to me

Not_Isaiah

I agree btw, just pointing out some of the reasons why he was voted innocent.

Carlos

This is basically the only thing they have to offer for OP patreon at this point lol

Ezhow2

Luv u Jackson

Lucilfer Spawn

L take red thread is a official podcast classic.

Lucilfer Spawn

Good episode, only issues I have is the blame on the prosecution. They were forced by hand of the defense multiple times that unless they revealed certain things such as the gloves not fitting that they (the defense) would do it and make the prosecution look significantly worse. Furhman was going to be brought to the stand regardless of whether or not he said the n word and other incriminating things, plus he never revealed that to the prosecution themselves, the defense found footage that was only released during the trial that the prosecution had absolutely no way of being aware of. You also went too hard on people like Robert kardashian who was a close friend to OJ and was also especially felt forced to defend the “uncle” of his children. Darden despite being a black activist was considered a race traitor by his close mentor Johnnie Cochran simply because he wished to have a murderer face justice.

The Sneaky Strangler

Excellent episode. Super well crafted and entertaining. Thank you!

Nostradamus

Can the red thread have its own Patreon I don’t like it

Aries

TWO HOURS LETS GOO.

austin red

Im a 1999 kid. Talking to my older coworkers and my dad, it is amazing how much this is ingrained in the memories of anyone who watched it. They remember almost every aspect of this trial.

Colin Brown

All jokes aside jfk was a legit conspiracy and would make for a good video

Monkey d dragon deez nuts on your chin

Jackson I am always available to answer questions regarding almost anything in the hospital (Cardiothoracic ICU RN) and I also have my BA in History and Poly Sci from St Josephs University. I notice sometimes you guys have small questions that I find myself filling in the gap out loud at home to myself lol. I just noticed you said you read all the comments at the end here so I figured I would throw this out there. It'll probably just get buried but alas, have a wonderful day

DarthCoyster

Super entertaining episode <3

SteadiedShoe

it would be a great one, not just for the "Lulz govt did it" but for the fact there are AA LOT of conspiracies that surround it that many people probably dont know beyond building 7 lol

DarthCoyster

same that would be a good one

DarthCoyster

Lmao no way pm me we gotta figure this out

Dylan Culver

Rodney King was a totally justified if you look into it seriously it kill me how little people know about it

Thoams Wyatt

🥸

Willie Valentin

I'm pissed off again. An episode i'd like to see is a deep dive into Kurt Cobain's suicide..the theories and it's legacy. Gotta teach the kiddos all about it

SpectreMk2

After this one I'd really like to hear them do the Casey Anthony trial especially since I'd assume Charlie is there in Florida and probably heard alot of people discussing already and I'd love to hear Isaiah on it

Pokeypuddles

Oh they absolutely purposely released the bronco on his birthday by the way. The successor they built to replace the bronco, they literally named it the Ford Escape. They absolutely knew what they were doing they're just cheeky bastards.

Joeballsaque

Rest in piss, such a despicable person and nearly everyone on this case was almost as disgusting as he was.

Joeballsaque

excited for this one

Persei8

yeah we need a red thread on alan dershowitz he might secretly be the most evil person alive or something to defend all of these people lol

cas.ko

Gentlemen, I would like to say you’re welcome on your behalf if I may for this creative idea of an episode bestowed upon you by me in the comments of the previous episode. I am honoured to shine a light on this obscure case that leaves many justice connoisseurs bewildered to this very day. I wish you well in all future endeavours. Peace out Yours truly~

Jealous Lettuce

Or maybe something more light-hearted for next episode akind to the moth-man or something

Harry Crossman

My twin lmao

Dylan Culver

Hi Jackson, I think regarding the Ford Bronco date this, as funny as it is that it was OJ's birthday I think it's not out of the realm of possibility that it was coincidence. If you think about it, it isn't necessarily 1/365 as the same reaction would have likely happened if the date of the Bronco was the same as other significant dates like the date of the murder, date of the innocent verdict etc. Also to consider that Ford made an announcement for the date, so a similar reaction would have occured if the date of the initial announcement matched any relevant date to the case. I think this would make it closer to like a 2% chance of bad luck which is more believable. Dunno why I wrote this just some stat analysis that I find interesting on how coincidences like this can happen Great episode tho, as a Brit was interesting to deep dive into a case I don't know much of the details of outside the basics. Maybe as mentioned in the episode a Casey Anthony episode could be a good idea? Xoxo

Harry Crossman

9/11 conspiracies wouldnt b bad for a episode

Cadence

So to sum it all up he’s an innocent man simple as that

Mark

Man they really went 'He didn't do it. Who did? Ahhh who knows who cares."

Caleb P.

The one thing I don't think that the touched over was the insane negligence made by the criminal investigators. To allowing media to be able to film the house and the body's being taken out, which is not allowed especially with something this high profile. To allowing non investigative officers to come and look at the bodies who weren't involved, because they wanted to see them. And the actual investigators breaking basic investigative etiquette involving the disposal and use of latex gloves.

Intheend6324

And jfk and the moon and flat earth!!! So many good ones. Can’t do them all at once 👍

Joe

I agree with Jackson. They definitely were going to do it in OJs birthday. Someone in Marketing thought it'd be funny until they got backlash from inside

Pacey

When we getting a Red Thread x Me Undies Collab design

James Cleary

Sequestration for a case is normal and not a good enough reason to convict a murderer innocent. They were not "forced" to do anything. You can leave if you feel like it is too much or too taxing or if you aren't fit to be on this trial.

beans

It truly shows that injustice breeds more injustice. Reminder to how people treated muslims after 9/11 in a seek for "justice" or what Mark Walburg did to a Vietnamese man in his pursuit of "justice" You wanna talk petty revenge this country is littered with it

Pippy Pop

I love hearing Isaiah getting so heated justifiably. It’s refreshing knowing people know how much bullshit the trial was

Brandon Caples

I think the mistreatment of the Jury was a major reason why they voted guilty, iirc from several other studies on the case they were denied TV and forced into rooms for almost a year not to be "influenced / tainted" for the case. I believe the Rodney King event was more an excuse rather then conviction. Being in isolation for that long can make people go mad, and I can see the Jury having a brotherhood and voting OJ innocent to spite everyone who put them in that situation.

Carlos

I especially loved the parts showing the details of the victims. The part about her collecting old china and such. It really gave another layer of anger towards all involved that allowed this man to walk free.

beans

Big facts! She is thorough af

Little Lacie

This case was so excruciating. Truly a look into the depths people will sink for "petty revenge" even over the deaths of a mother and a man that did nothing. The video of the jury admitting to having bias truly shows a disgusting version of humanity.

beans

Red thread 9/11 video when ?

Monkey d dragon deez nuts on your chin

They weren’t kidding, The Juice was loose!

Banjo

Love you jackson

Presto

Same

When does wendi ever "preach" about being Chrstian? He doesn't bring it up on his videos unless he's talking about an actual religious video. He's only talked about it a couple times on the pod if I remember correctly. I haven't finished this episode yet but I'm sure he doesn't "preach" like you said. Get outta here you fedora tipping redditor 🤡🤡

Michael Cole
