Would You Use A Patreon Alternative?

i hope the plan to find a way to release video versions of podcasts in early access comes to fruition sometime soon. Right now i often end up waiting to listen to certain shows and OP episodes that have visual elements until the public version comes out because it feels i'm getting an inferior experience in early access at which point that benefit loses a lot of value

if you did the YouTube membership then I would switch to that because I hate the patreon website when I want to watch more than one episode. I don't even have the patreon app because it is so laggy and annoying. I just use the RSS feed with a different app when I want to listen on my phone or in the car.

I find it hard to track watch/listen history on patreon (compared to youtube for example). if im being honest, it is the main reason I'm letting my subscription run out on patreon and not renewing. I just can't be bothered to take the effort and find where I was on an ep, which ones i started but didn't finish, and if I switch devices I have to remember where I was and skip there. Patreon as a site is pretty mid, honestly I just use the emails to know when stuff comes out and only log in for content or comments if I feel a need. Might be worth looking into Floatplane, I support Dankpods on there and the audio quality is great

The patreon mobile app is shit. The filters+ search functions are bad and sometimes it takes ages to scroll through stuff when looking for older content. Also when using the app in my native language you can tell they just Google translated some stuff. Id be down to use another platform if you find something better that also has an app

Absolutely, TMG moved away from patreon to their own thing and it is 100x more functional. Patreon is subpar and the UI sucks
