2019-07-15 03:43:59 +0000 UTCThey didn't specify in the anime but grisha couldn't read everything, he made up like 70% of it. Even in the manga nobody truly knows what the true history is between the eldians and the marleans, (yet at least).

Quick corrections and tidbits, the Marleyian king didn't make a pact with the Eldian king, the Eldian king simply didn't wish to fight anymore so he brought the bulk(?) Of his people to the island and built the walls, then had the founding titan erase their memories so no one could disagree with him. Also considering the old writings Grishe saw the Old Eldians were not bad guys (they were helping progress civilization) so they probably were not raping people lol. The Marleyians have most of the 9 Titans under their control and only Eldians mutate into Titans after injection.

She and her religious group were then arrested by soldiers (who we now know were Marleyans) and were all turned into titans. She then wandered around as a dumb titan until she bumped into Reiner's group when they were young and ate Reiner's friend who was a shifter
