2019-12-05 05:09:09 +0000 UTCThe phrase "power scaling" doesn't really apply to a show like Fullmetal Alchemist in my opinion. Apart from a few exceptions, every character has a decent chance of being able to defeat every other character. In FMA, the outcome of a fight is almost always decided by who has more skill/knowledge rather than who is objectively the "stronger" fighter. Alchemy as a "power system" is also based on that assumption. A user's alchemy is more effective the more knowledgeable/skilled they are. Edward is no exception. He's a state alchemist and a child prodigy sure, but he's still a 15-year old kid. He's still rattled from the whole Nina incident and his encounter with scar, and now he's fighting to the death against a serial killer.

2019-12-03 23:30:59 +0000 UTCBy the way Chris/Johnny the reason why Alphonse actually starts believing about the puppet thing is because the previous episode if you look back, ed says to alphonse that he was afraid to tell him something but never got the chance to. That’s why alphonse thinks its that puppet info. Obviously he wouldn’t believe a mind trick blindly unless ed hinted at something like it. As for the characters. Every character has relevance to the story don’t worry, no one is waste
