as a kid, i saw great animation and POWERFUL BROWN GIRLS. this show meant so much to me when i was 11. My first rewatch when i was 19 changed my life. it was like seeing the show over again for the first time. THIS is why ATLA is so beloved 15 years later. Its so timeless

I saw a comment on a YT vid that said that "notice how since Zuko learned from the Dragons with Aang, his style looks more like that of a water-bender (more relaxed and fluid) and fits his now more calm personality. And that he also doesn't grunt anymore. When you watch him firebend in the first couple of seasons, almost every motion is followed by a grunt. Now it's more calm because he has found a sort of balance, he's no longer angry and has found peace. " (meant to comment this on the last Avatar vid but i forgot lol)

So fun fact, the creators confirmed that sokka wearing the flower necklace was a signal that he lost his virginity that night with suki. Also if you think about it, toph would have been able to see/feel sokka clapping those cheeks 😂😅

Fun fact: Hama, the old bloodbending lady, is the reason they killed Katara’s mom. Word spread that Hama used bloodbending to escape from prison so when they found out there was a waterbender left in the southern water tribe who could potentially use that power, that’s why they killed Katara’s mom instead of taking her prisoner. Also Katara couldnt bloodbend her moms murderer since there has to be a full moon out. Loved the reaction tho this is one of my fav episodes
