You probably won’t see this but you’re not wrong about him being a hater. Just a bit exaggerated. He only hates prodigies. If you’re not a prodigy and you’re just better than oikawa because of experience/how hard you’ve worked then he’s cool with you. But he hates natural genius’ who don’t have to work as hard as he does (he feels in his mind)...but it’s not as serious as you feel it is. That moment his middle school year really opened his eyes...which is why he’s better now
