Lol I still don't want to spoil anything but you should consider Gilgamesh and Archer as polar opposite when it comes to their origin. You might figure it out when you watch the next few episodes of Fate/Stay Night and a couple more familiar faces pop up. Idk, this anime isn't confusing for me personally but there is a lot to remember

Also the reason kayneth killed the father of the church is to prevent other masters from claiming command seals for helping out in defeating caster because that was the reward
