Assassin and Archer's fight happens off screen in the visual novel as well, but it's mentioned that when Archer return to Rin, he's been beat to shit lol.

2022-05-06 15:09:52 +0000 UTCThe assasin is Sasaki Kojiro who was the arch rival of Miyamoto Musashi the most famous swordsman in Japan. There's a manga based off his story called vagabond and there is a very famous book called the book of 5 rings written by him. He had 70 duels against other famous swordsman in japan and won all of them starting from his firsr duel at age 12. Sasaki kojiro was one of the people he dueled and the only one to survive the first duel vs him. He later had a rematch with him and killed him (the assasin we see) though he arguably only won through psychological warfare and throwing off his opponents mental by provoking him (he writes about these tactics in the book of 5 rings). This was also the final duel musashi had after this duel he gave up the sword and supposedly reached spiritual awakening.
