The situation isn't uncomfortable if you think about how being kids of the same gender having naked baths together isn't all that weird. So many young kids do that. It has been done. Society makes it to where people think even something as common as a couple of young boys getting naked together is a terrible thing. The way Rudeus saw it was that it was just two bros chilling out and he can't take social cues. His previous life literally made him to where he has a high intellect and he can be super perverted but his social skills are absolutely zero. In a few ways he is literally still like a child. He couldn't catch on to the fact that she was a girl and couldn't understand how she was acting. You can't protect the bad and uncomfortable and messed up things he does in these first few episodes but their is reasoning behind a lot of it. The few moments of scumbag scenes he has is not justifiable but it has some understanding behind it and it isn't for nothing. The biggest hurdle for this series is balancing out the fact that he is in a kids body with a kids brain and kid hormones but the intellect and memories of a terrible product of an adult of society in the real world. You have to think about a lot of these things with this series.

The kid that Rudeus stood up to that was bullying had his mother shown in the flashback where they told on rudeus to paul and rudeus figured out that the mother of the bully was using the fact her kid got hurt to come over and get attention from paul and try to use that to get paul because if you notice in previous scenes their are girls in the town that just watch at him train all the time out in the yard with his shirt off. Rudeus thinks the mother used her own kid getting hurt as a way to get to paul and try to do something with him (naughty naughty). Its subtle and little things like this where rewatches help out a lot with this series.

2022-05-13 04:56:21 +0000 UTCFeel like you also misunderstood that Rudy is an exception for being able to cast magic without saying the spells. Normally you have to say the spell to cast magic which was why Roxy was acting all weird about how he was unique and didn't even have to waste time on saying the spells if he didn't want to. Roxy has to say the spell like most people do. Not everyone has to but rudeus is one of those people who don't. It would be best if you guys treated this as a pretty complex series because it has some quite complex structure to it if you take it all into account so you NEED to pay attention or at least do a rewatch to get these things in your head before reacting to the next episode or else u will not be able to get what is happening half of the time.

Although openings are always something I love this series uses its time wisely and uses it to build the world and show what its like in the world. So a lot of the time in the beginning you will hear opening music but it will show scenes of the environments and take that time for world building. This series goes hard in making you get into the world itself.

Obviously it is true after episode 8 it dims down a lot but man if this show didn’t have moments like these is would be my favorite isekai. Great reaction you two bear with it.
