i kinda get it that people recommend ubw before the fate zero but starting with ubw is definitely way worse than fate zero by any means. cause when we talk on the vn side, UBW is the second route so the readers would already have the prior knowledge from the first like glilgamesh, sussy grail and saber's identity so starting ubw would be more confusing rather than intriguing.

Question, if yall were to do it again (after watching 13 episodes) would yall still have watched fate zero before unlimited blade works or afterwards due to spoilers and suspense? Just curious. BTW I will say Shirou has good character development, he's pretty dumb during the first part of UBW, ngl.

2022-05-15 17:40:12 +0000 UTCI prefer zero over unlimited blade works in every aspect outside animation. Fights certainly hold up well in unlimited blade works. Will there be reactions to the Fate heavens feel movies? It’s one of the alternate routes to Fate/stay night. In my opinion it’s my preferred route and believe it was executed very well In movie quality. The animation and soundtrack is the best I’ve ever seen and heard for an Anime. It was unreal first watching them.

But fate stay night also does have its merits its animation is far superior and there are a bunch of cool moments in this show that make it worth watching. Fate zero imo is a masterpiece of a story if you can catch on to all the little bits and pieces and fully understand the story

2022-05-14 14:46:13 +0000 UTCBtw I should point out now that the reason zero and stay night are so different storywise and theme wise is because the writers are completely different. So the writer for original fate series stay night and heavens feel is nasu and the writer for fate zero Is gen urobuchi. Gen urobochi basically got the rights to do the backstory for fate stay night related to kiritsugu and kirei from nasu and nasu approved his version of the events in Fate zero as Canon and incorporated some of that material into the stay night and heavens feel routes as well. Urobuchi is a very different writer than nasu he goes for alot more dark themes and plot twist type story with mature elements while nasu goes for more of a romance route that feels more like a visual novel romance game with action (that's what fate stay night is based on)
