This is probably the most uncomfortable and infuriating experience I've had watching a reaction. It's really unfortunate that UBW didn't do it for you guys as most other people really enjoyed it. I hope you guys enjoy the Heavens Feel Movie Trilogy

I however appreciate you guys being honest with your feelings because it kind of validates the point so many in the community love to shit on which is the VN is the best medium for this because that's how it was written. If UFOtable followed as best they could you would get a massively bloated show with a shit load of Shirou spewing exposition for sometimes literally hours at a time it just doesn't translate perfectly so information is always lacking in the shows that tie stuff together.

I think anime often focus on the inner thoughts of our characters more than we're accustomed to with western shows. I assume because this is based on a novel, that inner thought was very dialogue heavy, which slows down the pacing of the show, but it's still important. I also think when you miss details in the dialogue, later events don't make sense. I think it's well written. I think the hints at Archer's identity, that kept you guessing until the reveal is good writing. I think it's a good story, and well thought out. I also think given the circumstances, real world people don't just make immediate or clear cut decisions and take action as much as we're accustomed to in other shows. They reflect, they go back and forth, they regret, question themselves... a lot. Would we enjoy watching that progression? No, and most shows don't dwell on it, or eliminate it... or show you just enough to know it happened, and move on from it. The writer here wanted it to be the focus, and kept going back over it, and once you're tired of, it obviously wears at your patience for the rest of the events to come. Chris was right about how Shirou created the reality marble. He realized he wasn't recreating swords, he was recreating what was in his mind... once he gained that realization, he realized how to recreate the reality marble. I do think the incantation was necessary to initiate the process though. Rin did say he was given that incantation to activate his noble phantasm when he became a guardian. As for Archer reappearing... Gilgamesh's weapons wouldn't have vaporized him as it seemed. We've seen every servant get injured, and then slowly vanish. Even when Gilgamesh killed Rider and Assassin (staged death) in the first series, and Berserker in this series, they were injured, we saw them die, then vanish. Based on that, it's safe to assume Archer dematerialized on his on just before being struck by Gilgameshes final barrage. He told Shirou he'd have to take him on because he didn't have the mana to do so any longer. We should also take into account that Archer is a different kind of Heroic Spirit. He's a guardian, summoned to any era to prevent Humans from their own self destruction. I personally I think he was not only summoned to this war, but sent to it to do what he did in the end. I do think the movies are better paced, with less dialogue, but they also seem to be written in a way that expects you to have seen the other routes first... so that helps with pacing, at least it seems that way to me.

Maybe you guys can start with Fate/Babylonia series which I think is more easy to consume and straight forward.. That one has no relation to any of this Fate/Stay Night.... And also it has a lot of fight scene in it.

2022-06-07 14:37:59 +0000 UTCFrom what I know Gilgamesh have a Noble Phantasm which is called Sha Naqba Imuru which will tell him what is the servant true name, Noble Phantasm, power level and also he can see through magic. Probably which explain why he know what the Grail is by him seeing it. Also, from what I know. I think every servant that has been resummon will forget the memory of their past summon. Probably how Saber didn't say anything is because of that. And also, the reason why the weapon exploded is because it was a Noble Phantasm weapon and it will explode upon impact. Just like how Emiya (the archer) fused his mana and a Noble Phantasm sword to create a Broken Phantasm (Caladbolg Arrow) which will create an explosion upon impact. Lastly, Shirou can't copy Gilgamesh main Noble Phantasm. Enuma Elish (EA). Which is a sacred divine weapon that only Gil can use. It's a "sword" like weapon that was created even before sword was created. That sword was created even before the world is created.

Also a lot of moments here have Way more impact when you watch zero first so you have the context... also if you watched this first and dropped it I highly doubt you would've watched zero after seeing this disappointment which would've been a shame so overall this was the best way to see it
