2022-06-16 15:31:49 +0000 UTCThis series makes a lot of nods to Nicolo machiavellis book "the prince" and sun tzus work "the art of war" (many of the war tactics lelouch uses are basics of the art of war). Philosophy and ideals play a big role here for sure. Since I doubt you guys are gonna read them I give you the super short summary. Some of the main ideas of the prince are as follows: 1)the ends justify the means (results matter more than the method used to produce said results 2) It is better to be feared than to be loved. (A tyrannical ruler or a dictator will be a more effective ruler than a weak, peace loving benevolent fool).

He takes the general concept of a heroic character who fights for justice and tries to always do the right thing and throws it out the window. While he does fight for justice In his own way he does so in a way that makes sense realistically. For example he knows that in war you have to make sacrifices and that trying to fight a war the "correct" way is not the most efficient way of doing things and would produce less than ideal results. In this way he is similar to light from death note because while both characters seem to have a very good motivation or just cause for doing things they both go about it in a way that's morally questionable and in the case of light, it becomes downright evil.

But if the guys getting manipulated don't remember that happening, and there are big named soldiers seeing this go down, there gonna bring it up to him when he's normal again eventually

2022-06-16 12:54:06 +0000 UTCThe main characters dubs are good but side characters so damn whack. You guys should do whatever will let you enjoy it the most. They like to pace the show like this by making mad shit happen and giving tiny clues for it happening so be on the look out. Also the zero costume stays so get used to it. Keep watching and the shows gonna blow u away. Also these geass moments are usually ruled out as betrayals because no one knows about Lelouch’s power and it is impossible for them to come to the conclusion that he has mind control (They will suspect it eventually but not early on)
