I feel shield hero is one of the animes that is very easy to enjoy if you dont dig deep into it (probably why Cris’s friend liked it). Ive liked a lot of the episodes given in the series and it is one of the better isekais maybe top 4. The animation clean, the goal is clear, characters are cool, underlying issue is the writing of some of these characters. Their is no legitement reason for them to all have so much hatred for the shield hero, it just doesnt make sense, it makes it feel empty. The only reason they hate the shield hero is so the author has a underdog story that is cool and edgy. The only thing naofumis charcter has is his hatred but once that is gone his character is nothing. I still enjoy watching the reactions though, it is a cool show and the waves themselves are very cool. Cris is lowkey liking it though and Im down with that. Johnny clearly iffy. I thinks its worth finishing the 1st season but im not sure about the second
