I don't know if anyone cleared up the confusion for yall from last episode, but last episode Viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenerya, not Alicent. The Aegon he was referring to was Aegon the conqueror their ancestor, the first king of the iron throne. He was saying Rhaenerya would be the one to unite the realm, not Aegon his son. If you remember, earlier in episode 8 she asked him "if she thought Aegon's dream was true" as in Aegon the conqueror's dream/prophecy, the night bebe before the trial to contest Luke's claim of driftwood however, their conversation never finished, he later resumed the conversation on his death bed, assuming he was talking to Rhaenyra, not knowing it was actually Alicent. He always backed Rhaenyra's claim, even in his dementia. Alicent assumed she was talking about their son Aegon, since she does not the know that song of ice and fire, that's passed from King to heir. So he was saying Rhaenerya would be the one to unite the realm, to play her part in the Aegon the conqueror's prophecy, not Aegon their son. Remember when he told Rhaenyra about the prophecy at the end of episode 1? he was reciting those exact words to answer her question, be he answered like wayyyyy to late, after she left, on his deathbed. Aegon their son was never told that prophecy only Rhaenyra. Allison's motives is pretty much one giant, dramatic misunderstanding.
