It's totally false to say that old school animes were slow like that. It's a lie. Only animes adaptated from the Shônen Jump were like that, because they kept producing episodes while the mangas were still being published. So they kept adding filler scenes to fill empty spaces inside the episodes. So that's why there are a lot of repetitions, and that's why the One Piece anime is terrible. You should react to One Pace instead.
