Iv seen this loser, life is shit main characters many times in anime. I guess you could say he was more unique as a kid cause he was a soft kid who thought he was a tough punk. But as an adult which is how we see him through out the whole show, theres nothing unique about him if im referencing all the anime iv watched. Which theres nothing inheritely wrong with him not being unique... I saw this one meme online that implied if takemitchy was strong the show would be over already cause he would of managed to get the job done. And thats the point. If Takemitchy stays the same, weak and unable to do much to change anything it makes the plot more interesting. So its safe to say the writers want us to put blame on takemitchy cause if he was stronger, braver, or even smarter he would succeed a lot more. As shown in the episode after this one. As chris said him messing up so much leaves room for us to see him grow and succeed more
