thats just plain wrong, you can unlock spells that are arcane. we saw lumiere become arcane during the fight with demon licht, yunos zephyr sword during the devil fight for easy examples.

2021-10-31 03:39:15 +0000 UTCDon't worry about the power scaling to much. The shit is just going up and up and up. Arcane is the status given to mages who defy natural conventions with their magic. Anything to do with forbidden magic or devil magic is considered arcane, even magic that effects the otherworld or otherworldly magic would be considered arcane. Pretty sure any ancient magic is considered arcane as well.

2021-10-29 23:17:48 +0000 UTCEach devil has their own amount of power like people do also so of course some devils are stronger than others, so when they say 40% or whatever it’s 40% of their power. If the first devil used 100% he was just weaker power wise but it’s unknown how much he used. Also you can evolve your magic in rare cases into arcane, but being arcane means you’re in a stage above stage 0 so that means you’re in one stage or the other, not both.

What I take from that is magic that is very unorthodox when compared to the basics like the 4 elements and what branch from them.

2021-10-29 04:20:18 +0000 UTCArcane are magic that are not one of the 4 Main Attributes or any other Basics Attribute like for example: Chain magic is not on of the four attribute but it's still classified as earth cause chain is metal and metal is earth material but if someone with an attributes that is not connected with any of tho main 4 elements or any other elements it's considered Arcane magic cause Anti magic is not any light base or any of the elements it's just an attribute itself like dark, tree... But tree should also be considered earth but tree specifically is different I guess lol so yeah add something or give me some facts cause some of this might be wrong so... Feel free to add some lo

The clover kingdom was mentioned to be the kingdom that developed unnatural magic like dark magic, time magic, world tree, sealing with nero. These can affect devils like you saw against the first devil they beat, only yami and asta could actually hurt him. The heart kingdom only has natural magic so they need the clover kingdom mages. The stages is not too important, you just need to know the arcane stage mages. more will be explained further down the line.

2021-10-29 02:55:08 +0000 UTCI think they stated that stage 0 is what you need to keep up. Arcane magic is what is needed to actually kill a devil. I'm sure the type of arcane magic is important to killing a devil too. I don't think you can train towards arcane magic; they'd likely need to be born with it. The only thing I can remember is if you were affected by magic from the otherworld, it mingles with your magic which then makes it possible for non-arcane magic to have an actual effect on a devil. Like with Licht and Lumiere. Nero was born with arcane magic (sealing) but she was affected by the otherworld by using forbidden magic so her sealing magic is probably even more effective on devils. This is how I understand it, correct me if I'm wrong other BC fans!

2021-10-29 02:41:56 +0000 UTCYou have to remember as well, the devil they defeated before was up against, Asta, Yami, Secre, Yuno (while possessed by an elf), Patry, Licth, and the first Wizard King... that's three arcane stages (one of them possessed by a devil), at least two stage zeros, the wind spirit, and whatever Litch is, lol.

The stages of magic seem to explain the measurable strength of magic known in this world where devil magic is technically "something from another world". That's why they said that arcane stage mages can have a chance to defeat a devil because its also not understood very well

2021-10-29 02:22:04 +0000 UTCYuno does not have arcane magic. Wind magic is still basis magic. To beat a devil you have to be stage zero and arcane. Also yes there are levels to devil magic as well. You learn this in the future. The arcane stage is the magi you have like Yami dark magic. It's magic you have to be born with the exception of Asta.

(Remember you need to be arcane to Kill a devil, not a devil host, but some devil host have so much devil magic that in most cases you probably need to be arcane to defeat them) Remember, arcane mages have the POTENTIAL to kill devils, so they still need to train their magic. A weak arcane mage really can't finish a devil off. Just as a heads up for stage 0, keep in mind that not all stage 0s are equal. Kind of like how in One Punch Man you have like super powerful S class(the most elite class in OPM) heroes, and lower end S class heroes. To obtain arcane stage, you’re either born with it, or acquire it through risky means (like messing with forbidden magic/the other world since it mutates your attribute) but that's risky because if not all, most people died from that, you can even end up mutating into another monster among many things (Asta is an outlier of course)

Remember, they're still human, it's just that they're able to use a devil's power. In the first devil fight, they needed Yami's darkness magic that can interfere with devils, and Asta to be able to finish him off. And your question about whether, a stage 0 can get to arcane stage, that's a no. BUT, there's something else. You don't have to worry about that because that's waaaay into BC's future for anime only watchers.
