We did actually get some backstory on Genya and his brother in an episode last season. Their mother got turned into a demon and killed all of the other family members so the big brother had to kill his own mother, but Genya didnt know she turned into a demon so he thought his big brother just killed his human mother. Then they started hating each other basically.
