The gritty texture itself is available for download. You can lay it under shading or place it over images on either overlay or multiply (or any other fancy layer type) for different effects.

Funny story about this one.... I thought I'd lost it for the longest time. Could not find it anywhere, so I drew the commissioner a new one gratis and apologized like a madwoman for misplacing it (he was incredibly gracious).  Just as I was about to send the second one, the first one turned up....
