2. Replace sounds if needed and source sounds that work instantly

3. Delete all compressors and question why you need one to begin with...

If you really can't do anything for your room it's a ok option. If the headphones you own are already pretty flat.. no need for sonarworks. I tend to find the correction a bit over the top. The dry wet again works wonders

Saturation or Excitement

Use saturation on anything with notes. Add even harmonics to those instrument to make them sound 'richer'. Add excitement to anything you need to stand out and add it to any top end you need for drums. It literally excites sounds (adds top end harmonics)

Pink noise mixing

You can do it to set levels, eq into it, compress into it.. You can go as crazy as you like. But again I like the thought: "I have pink noise in my ears" haha

Last tip is to Copy the rough thought and make it fit your first idea. Generally speaking if it's a smaller company they will stick with the first thought. If it's a little larger more people will have an opinion. So you give them a choice or you loose the gig.
