Shading on white looks clean and good but when I turn the colors later the shades kind of disappear and everything looks so bad - it's the same kind of feeling when you remove the sketch layer after you finish inking ...

I don't like the kind of heads I draw, they look terrible, especially when you try to imagine them as an actual 3D object, they would look odd, mainly because they have no nose. Here's something experimental that looks much better I guess. What do you think?
